Why Does Voting In Local Elections Matter?
Early voting has already begun in Collinsville. On the ballot you will be able to vote on Collinsville City Council, Collinsville Township, Collinsville School District Board and Collinsville Library Board.
Election Day is Tuesday, April 1, 2025.
These positions may not seem important to some, but they are! These positions help shape our community in a big way and continue to keep Collinsville the City we love.
Here is why your vote makes a difference in local elections:- Direct Impact on Your Community:
Local Boards make the decisions on City repairs, road work, public safety, City ordinances, school funding, Library programs, and more that do affect you and your family every day. - Your Voice Matters:
Local elections have shown to have a lower voter turnout than national elections. By voting in your local elections, your voice can make a difference. Your individual vote carries more weight, due to the lesser population than a national election. - Leaders That Represent You:
Voting in your local elections gives you the chance to elect leaders who share your core values and will help build a stronger community and school district. - Holding Elected Individuals Accountable:
Your vote gives you the opportunity to hold those elected accountable for their actions and place the best candidate for your community’s needs. - Invest in Collinsville For Future Generations:
Your vote helps determine how money is spent on schools, parks, libraries, and local development that impacts Collinsville for generations to come.
