APEC April 2025 Meeting Announcement!
Topic: A Public Sector Case Study of Facility Energy Efficiency UpgradesSpeakers: Jessica Gagliaducci and Luke Saylor—Trane Energy Services
Jessica Gagliarducci has a Mechanical Engineering degree from Mizzou. With eight years at Trane, Jessica has focused on Building Automation Systems (BAS) and, for the past five years, has specialized in Trane’s Energy Services division. She assists public sector clients in Illinois in funding large capital projects through energy and operational savings, as well as securing grants and incentives. Her work has been instrumental in driving sustainable and cost-effective solutions for numerous public sector projects, ensuring both financial and environmental benefits.
Luke Saylor holds a Mechanical Engineering degree from Missouri S&T and has been with Trane for two years. As a Project Developer and Energy Engineer, he identifies energy savings opportunities for public sector clients to help fund larger capital projects. By matching utility incentive programs with energy conservation measures (ECM), Luke generates additional funding, ensuring projects are both cost-effective and sustainable. His expertise in energy efficiency makes him a valuable asset to the team.
This presentation will showcase the collaborative efforts between the City of Alton and Trane to boost energy efficiency across five city facilities. It will cover the extensive upgrades undertaken, including HVAC system enhancements, lighting retrofits, and the integration of advanced Building Automation Systems (BAS) to optimize energy usage. The discussion will also describe the funding strategies employed, highlighting how the project was financed through energy and operational savings, as well as the acquisition of grants and incentives to reduce initial costs. Furthermore, the presentation will address the environmental advantages, such as significant reductions in energy consumption and greenhouse gas emissions, and will outline the operational improvements that result in long term cost savings and enhanced comfort for building occupants.
